Los Angeles, California Day 1: Griffith Observatory and Americana Street Mall

After our 6 1/2 hour tour with Starline Tours (see my previous post), a good friend of my mom picked us up at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood Blvd and brought us to the famous Griffith Observatory. This observatory is a good place to bring your kids because its very educational and kid friendly. This museum is filled with information about astronomy that will help us understand the galaxy more.

Children will enjoy looking at meteorites, star, planets, videos about the galaxy and many more. I love this place because of its rich educational guide to astronomy. The visual aids to explain theories and other scientific things about astronomy are simply amazing. The observatory provides history on how the world was form from tiny bits of matter. They will also help you identify stars and will also provide information about asteroids. The observatory will also give you the opportunity to touch a piece of the moon and the planet mars. Pretty cool, huh? :D

You can walk around and read some information regarding how the world was built from tiny pieces of matter. You can also visit the lower level of the observatory and look at the planets. When you go near the planets, you have to try their scale to see how much you weigh in the other planets. My favorite planet would be pluto because I only weigh 2 pounds on it.

We went to the observatory at night and that is why I was blessed to see the sunset. It was gorgeous!!!!! Here are our sample pictures:

Our experience at the Griffith Observatory was fantastic. We not only had the opportunity to look at the museum but we were also blessed to have the best view of the stars in the sky. Our first day in Los Angeles was a blast! We are looking forward to coming back here and enjoy more of the recreational sights. Below are few of our pictures.
