Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte Summer 2015

Ever since we went home in the Philippines and started working, Raphael and I looked forward to LONG WEEKENDS. Long weekends meant that we don't work from Friday to Saturday or Saturday to Monday due to holidays or significant events happening in our country or in the area where we're working. Last May 1st, we celebrated Labor Day!
Rap and I decided to join our family in Ilagan, Isabela Philippines on their road trip around northern part of the Luzon island. We took the bus (Victory Liner Bus around Quezon City) going to Ilagan, Isabela from Quezon City. It was a 10 hour bus ride! So grateful that our bus has a wifi installed on it.

Pancit Cabagan

Before heading to our first destination, we stopped at Cabagan, Isabela to eat their famous delicacy, Pancit Cabagan. I forgot the name of the restaurant because I was too busy eating my plate of pancit cabagan. ha-ha-ha Maybe next time, I should really take notes in case we drove by Cabagan again. Lol!
After our yummy morning snacks, we went back on the road and drove to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. If I am not mistaken, the drive is about 5-6 hours away from Ilagan, Isabela. When we reached Pagudpud, we stopped along the bridge to take some photos. The view was definitely, spectacular!

Pagudpud Bridge
The house we rented is near Hannah's Resort in Pagudpud. The beach was just a walking distance from our house. After settling down and unpacking, we decided to go for a little swim on the beach. We enjoyed the peaceful feeling that the breeze gave us. The water was warm too! Well, you can assume that we did more posing for photos than swimming. Lol!

Our family :)
The following day, some of us went outside to witness the sunrise. Also, we took advantage of this moment for more photo opportunities. The sunrise was beautiful. What a gorgeous way to start your day! Who doesn't love watching the sun rise?!! :D

Magnificent!
There are so many activities available in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. You can rent a jetski to go around the beach. You can rent a kayak to paddle with your friends. You can be superman and fly by availing their zip line activity. You can take your friends for an amazing Banana Boat Ride. You can build sand castles with your little ones. There are so many fun activities that you can avail with your family.

Our dear Mamaket posing for more pictures :)
We chose to do the Banana Boat Ride activity since we all haven't tried it and it looks really fun from a far. We paid 1500 Philippine Peso for the boat ride. Before we started, we were asked to gear up for our safety and protection. The employees also gave us instructions on what to do when we fall off the boat. Watch our video below:

Banana Boat Ride For The Win! Yeah!
We had so much fun riding the Banana Boat because we get to go around the beach and explore. Although I would have appreciated it more if the instructor warned us not to open our mouth if we fall off the boat, I drank a lot of vitamin SEA! Lol :) I have to share this..... ***emo moment***
The first time we fell off the boat, eventhough my mouth was open and I swallowed sea water, I felt peace and joy. We were in the water for a few minutes, waiting to be rescued. The water was calm and I just felt like it was embracing me and squeezing my stress away. Such a wonderful feeling, a memory to hold on, and an opportunity of a lifetime. <3
After our Banana Boat Ride! Picture, Picture :)
We didn't stay long at Pagudpud because we had to hit the road again for our next destination. As a first time vacationist at Pagudpud, I must say to everyone who wants to explore the northern part of Luzon island, do not miss out on the opportunity to visit Pagudpud. The place isn't that commercialized and there are so many activities for everybody.
There are vacation houses you can rent out and hotels that you can stay at. If you prefer to cook your own food, there are vendors near the beach that sells fish, squid, pork, and a lot more. There are cottages along the beach that you can rent out for you to grill your food. Enjoy your stay! Keep calm and ride a banana boat! ha-ha-ha

Until next time, Pagudpud!

  1. I think the name of the place where we ate pancit cabagan is Josie's Panciteria / Pancit Cabagan
